Welcome to the IT Academy – a first-of-its-kind, multi-year development program designed for Harvard IT professionals by Harvard IT professionals.
From Cloud computing, to software-as-a-service, and bring your own device—the way faculty, students, and staff are consuming and increasingly depending-on technology is changing. And the way we are being asked to provide IT services is also changing.
The CIO council has committed to invest in our workforce, and to provide the critical skill-sets we all need to keep our IT service at the forefront of IT needs for our community, and to help us all realize our full potential as individual contributors.
Built around the idea of creating “T-shaped professionals” who have both depth and breadth of expertise, the IT Academy offers six competency tracks with four levels of learning in each track, providing staff the opportunity to progress and track their achievement via badges that are awarded at every level.
In the first three years of roll out, all IT staff will have the opportunity to complete six Level I courses, eight for managers, providing a unifying learning experience, and building a common knowledge base and language for working together to meet users’ needs across all schools.
We hope you find the IT Academy a valued resource to help you develop your professional skills and reach your full potential!
